International Accreditation Forum (IAF)
The IAF is a world association of Conformity Assessment Bodies. IAF members accredit certification bodies that issue certificates attesting that an organisation’s management, products or personnel comply with the specified standard.

The primary purpose of IAF is two-fold. Firstly, to ensure that its accreditation body members only accredit bodies that are competent to do the work they undertake to do and secondly to establish Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MLA) between its accreditation body members. IAF can be contacted at:

South African National Accreditation System (SANAS)
SANAS is recognised by the South African Government as the single National Accreditation Body that gives formal recognition to certification bodies. SANAS is the recognised South African member of the IAF. This means that, if a member of SANAS does the certification of a Member, this certification will be recognised, based on the existing MLA, on an international basis. SANAS can be contacted at:
