Infrastructure Procurement & Delivery Management (IPDM) Training Success!

National treasury Instruction No 4 of 2015/2016 issued in terms of the Public Finance Management Act of 1999 (PFMA), requires accounting officers and accounting authorities to implement the National Treasury Standard in planning, design, procurement or execution of infrastructure projects, and to develop a suitable supply chain management policy for infrastructure procurement and delivery management.

Following the successful completion of the roll out of SIPDM country-wide during 2017, CESA introduced the CESA Infrastructure Procurement & Delivery Management (IPDM) training programme in 2018.  The course is designed as a practical understanding and implementation of the Standard with lectures by industry specialists Ron Watermeyer and Alain Jacquet.  To date the IPDM course has trained close to 120 delegates and is being run, in all major cities across the country. The 2019 training programme is currently being developed.

The development of the course was in response to a request to support National Treasury with the capacitation of public sector officials and private-sector built-environment practitioners, in the effective implementation of this Standard.  A series of SIPDM training seminars were run by CESA in Gauteng, Durban, Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, Kimberly, Mbombela, and Polokwane during 2017. Over 1050 delegates attended this training with 650 delegates from the public sector and 400 from the private sector.
