CESA supported by Aon South Africa hosted the who’s who in the engineering industry at a gala dinner held at Vodaworld in Midrand on the 16th August to celebrate the 2017 CESA Aon Engineering Excellence Awards. These Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the engineering industry celebrating innovation, quality, workmanship and professionalism.

CESA and SAPOA sign a Memorandum of Understanding
|
CESA and the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at providing a framework for the organizations to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with the aim of helping both parties best serve the interests of members and the community at large. SAPOA CEO, Neil Gopal says SAPOA and CESA recognize the need for collaboration to foster a common vision and goal. One of the benefits of this MoU will be the development of an anti-corruption strategy to help members of both organizations.

BEPEC - Exporting South African Construction

BEPEC’s mandate is to assist South African companies operating in the built environment to export their professional and engineering services abroad. The main focus is Africa and the goal is to unite the construction industry under the South Africa Inc. banner when tendering on infrastructure projects in the region. The CESA Business of Consulting Engineering (BCE) training programme for 2017 promises to be one of the most successful ever and we aim to make BCE 2018 even better! The aim of the BCE Programme is to equip engineering staff in the consulting environment with the non-technical skills which form an integral part of the work of a consulting engineer, but which are not part of a normal tertiary engineering education programme.

Job Shadow expanded to include School Talks

The CESA Job Shadow Initiative has been expanded to include School Talks by individuals or organisations, who do not participate in the main Job Shadow programme. The School Talks were necessitated by the fact that many learners continue to struggle with Mathematics and end up doing Mathematics Literacy which limits them in their later career choices.

Consultants Relay finds Success at new Riversands Venue
|
The 32nd CESA Annual WalkCycleRun Relay – a fun sports day where staff from member firms compete against other member teams in fun events – cycling, running, walking, tug-of-war and volleyball was held at the new Riversands venue on the 26 August.
