Kwazulu-Natal, chaired by Ashley Sewmungal of Hatch Goba, hosted a seminar on Discovering your
entrepreneurial self and making your money work for you, a site visit to the Umgeni Interchange site and
a year-end social in 2013. 2014 played host to a 30-seconds Inter-consultant Challenge, a workshop on
professional registration with ECSA, the 2nd Annual Consultants Soccer Challenge, YPF taking the leading
role in organising the 3rd Annual CESA KZN Relay, YPF participation at the Presidential Visit and a seminar
on Enterprise Sustainability and a Tax Talk.
East London /Border Kei, chaired by Tania Seeger of GIBB, hosted a Bowling evening, the Beaconhurst
Career Day in association with SAICE Amathole, a workshop on professional registration with ECSA and
participation in Job Shadow Day.
Port Elizabeth, chaired by Sisanda Dyubhele of Engineering Advice & Services, hosted a site visit to Oyster
Bay Wind Farm, participated in the Corporate Iron Man Challenge, a round table discussion, YPF participation
in the CESA Presidential visit, a Social Meet and Greet, participation in the Job Shadow Initiative, a workshop
on professional registration with ECSA and participation in the IMESA conference held in PE.
Western Cape, chaired by Micheal Vice of Jeffares & Green, hosted the annual Volleyball Tournament, Golden
Thread Survey and article in SAICE Civil Engineering publication, YPF participation in the Presidential visit and
the annual Touch Rugby Tournament.
Northern Cape, chaired by Mahlomola Letele of Aurecon, hosted a YPF Branch AGM, networking sessions
and active participation in the Youth In Construction Expo in Kimberly.
The North-West branch, chaired by Mulalo Munyangane of MDCC, Free State branch, chaired by Sechaba
Kou of UWP and the Mpumalanga branch, chaired by Nomfundo Masuku or Eyesizwe participated in the
CESA Presidential Visits and Job Shadow initiatives.
Working Committees
CESA YPF has established working committees focusing on specialised areas:
Membership, Activities and Events
This working committee focuses on growing YPF membership through awareness and advertising,
coordinating visits to member firms to engage with YP’s, coordinating National Activities such as the Job
Shadow Day Initiative, Annual Conferences, Exhibitions, CESA YPF Imbizo, Schools Visits and CSI initiatives
as well as to maintain the CESA YPF National calendar, collating branches activities and feedback.
Capacity Building
This working committee focuses on Education and Training to deal with professional registration issues,
constraints and solutions in conjunction with registration bodies, publicising courses offered at the CESA
School of Consulting Engineering, driving the Business of Consulting Engineering programme to YP’s. The
Quality and Risk focus is to elevate the implementation of Quality, Sustainability and Business Integrity
Management Systems at an operational level for YP’s and to explain, distribute and present Practice Notes
to YP’s
Communications and Marketing
This working committee focuses on the collation, production and distribution of newsletters, updating the
Social Media platforms, updating material on the CESA website
Finance
This working committee focuses on maintenance and sourcing of YPF sponsors, budgets and branch
finances
National Events CESA Annual Review 2013 / 2014
CESA YPF actively participated in the 2013 Annual CESA Conference at the Westin Hotel in Cape Town. A
record number of YP’s were in attendance. In addition to Jeshika Ramchund delivering the YPF Perspective on
“Leadership – Key to Sustainability”; Michael Vice, Chairperson of YPF Western Cape presented the results of
the Golden Thread Survey that was carried out in the region. Tafadzwa Mukwena, a YP on CESA’s Marketing
and Communications Committee delivered a presentation on the use of social media in business.
