CESA Attends FIDIC

The month of September has the most important event in the calendar of the Consulting Engineering
Sector as it marks the annual International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Convention which
was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from the 27th September to the 1st October 2014.

CESA was represented by our President, CEO and Contracts and Quality Manager . As always there
was a strong contingency from South Africa of member firms who also sent their Directors, Managers
and Staff.

Former CEO of CESA, Mr Graham Pirie and Arthur Taute, a current member of the Board of CESA
and ex-President of the FIDIC Group of Africa Member Associations (GAMA) were among the people
recognised during the FIDIC Awards Night for their contribution to FIDIC and the consulting engineering
profession over the years; for which we should all applaud them.

The most invaluable meeting and discussion at FIDIC took place at the Presidents, Directors & Staff
meeting on the Sunday before the Conference. The Agenda covered among other items, the new
subscription model for member associations, proposed statute changes and the naming of Dubai as the
venue for the 2015 FIDIC Conference.
