FIDIC Subscription fees constitute only 20% of its total income, challenging CESA to do more to diversify
its income from a single income stream of subscriptions. This will become an important point of discussion
in the next CESA Strategic Session, as there is a need for the organisation to bolster its cash-flow and
income without touching the sensitivity of increasing subscription fees too much above the CPI index.

The discussions included the effects for future Member Associations and are as follows:
Skills: higher professional level of staff,
Income: lower basic fees, more retribution,
Communication: not information but profiling,
Position: partnering the pre-competitive world (policies, business concepts, knowledge and innovation
programmes),
Organisation: differentiation on member needs.

These are profound themes that must occupy our minds as we strive to provide our membership with
more benefits for less.
