Overview

Engineering (and other) professionals are faced with new and daunting challenges with constant disruption brought about by innovation, digitisation and Industrial Revolution 4.0. This course will enable participants to acquire Design Thinking (a human-centric process) related skillset to appreciate and understand these changes better to experiment and deliver more holistic, innovative new solutions and possibly scalable solutions adding more value.

Why Should an Individual Attend?

  • Adapt to Disruption: Gain the mindset and tools to navigate rapid changes driven by innovation, digitisation, and Industry 4.0.
  • Master Human-Centric Problem Solving: Learn Design Thinking to approach challenges creatively, empathetically, and holistically—beyond traditional efficiency models.
  • Understand Complex Contexts: Build awareness of global and local dynamics, market shifts, and stakeholder needs to design relevant and impactful solutions.
  • Apply Practical Tools: Experience hands-on learning with real-world case studies, using techniques like Customer Journey Mapping, Stakeholder Mapping, and Prototyping.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work in diverse teams to foster cross-functional innovation and develop scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Enhance Communication & Influence: Learn to articulate ideas and decisions clearly and persuasively to clients, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Drive Value Creation: Identify new opportunities for products, services, and systems that deliver measurable value and long-term viability.

Outcomes
