Disciplinary




Committee











For the period under review, there was a fair amount of activity on the disciplinary front; partly as a result of
previous cases dragging on and partly as a result of new cases. As usual a number of complaints were made
verbally but not formalised as the complainants did not provide written complaints in terms of the Code of
Conduct (as required by the CESA Memorandum of Incorporation).
Mr Gerhard du Plessis continued into his fourth year as the Chairperson of the Committee and the Disciplinary
Committee membership continued as consisting of 4 members and 1 observer from ECSA.

The Committee did not meet during 2103 in keeping with its policy to only meet as and when necessary.
Matters were dealt with mainly by means of electronic communication between the Chairperson, the Chief
Executive Officer and the Contractual Affairs Manager.

Considering the complaints against alleged misconduct of member firms 11 unresolved cases were carried
over from 2012 while six new cases arose during 2013. There are currently 2 unresolved cases, with the
following status:
