CESA Strengthens Ties with Uganda

Association of Consulting Engineers

CESA was invited by the Uganda Association of Consulting Engineers to share best practice in running an
association of consulting engineers. CESA accepted the invite and addresses UACE Council Members. The
following knowledge sharing and issues were addressed by CESA Manager Client Liaison, Godfrey Ramalisa under
a detailed presentation named – “CESA - Success Story”:
Proven strategies for resource mobilization
Effective organisational development strategies
Effective ways for membership mobilization, capacity building and retention
Effective ways to carry out policy advocacy and to command the attention of policy makers
How to effectively and efficiently have an active Young Professionals Forum in Uganda.
How do the various national branches operate,
Effective fund raising, effective membership recruitment drives,
Effective lobby and advocacy,
Enforcement of code of conduct,
Areas of possible co-operation with UACE,
Rebranding to CESA from SAACE,
How the School of Consulting Engineering (SCE) is set up and run,
Interface with the Engineering Council,

CESA would like to thank the UACE for being proactive and the providing the opportunity for knowledge sharing
between South Africa and Uganda.
