Gender Mainstreaming Webinar – “How to Empower Yourself as a Graduate?”

We hosted the CESA Gender Mainstreaming Webinar, “How to empower yourself as a graduate,” on 2 July 2024. It was packed with practical advice and inspiration and  facilitated by Itumeleng Sethlabane AMSAICE, a Civil Engineer at Lukhozi Consulting Engineers, who guided us through insightful sessions. Matome Mashatola from the University of the Witwatersrand shared essential tips on effective job hunting and making the most of university career resources. Following him, Nkululeko Thusini, Mechanical Engineer and Founder of Palucraft, emphasised the importance of building a professional network for career success.

Jabulile Msiza, Director of Waste Engineering at Jones & Wagener, shared her career journey through the topic “Own your own path, navigate your professional journey” highlighting the importance of blending academic knowledge with practical experience. Yankho T. Banda Pr. Eng, MSAICE, FMS Projects Manager at Tolcon Group, provided valuable insights into the journey towards professional registration with ECSA, stressing the need for thorough preparation. Marizel Pienaar (Radley), Civil Engineer at Bigen Group and CESA YPF National Vice-Chairperson, closed the webinar by encouraging continuous learning and active engagement in professional events like those organised by CESA.
