Public Works and Infrastructure Summit

Our CEO, Chris Campbell, and Godfrey Ramalisa, Manager: Stakeholder Liaison, Branches & YPF, attended the second Public Works and Infrastructure Summit on 3 July.

Hosted by the Council for the Built Environment together with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, under the theme: “From Collapse to Confidence – Strengthening Public and Building Safety, Asset Management and Infrastructure Delivery.”

Some of the highlights from today include Public Works & Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson launching the National Built Environment and Construction Safety Framework to strengthen building safety, improve accountability, and help prevent future building collapses across South Africa.

Our CEO Chris Campbell also spoke on the lifecycle management of infrastructure delivery; while MEC Thulasizwe Thomo from the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport, reflected on his interactions with us, as CESA, at our Mpumalanga Branch Function held last week; and Eng. Malani Padayachee-Saman, Founder and CEO at MPAMOT, also contributed key insights.
