Client appointment issues in Consulting Engineering - Practice Notes Webinar

The CESA Practice Notes Webinar themed ‘Client appointment issues in Consulting Engineering’ was hosted on Monday, 14 November. Featuring presentations from consulting engineering industry experts, the online event was well received by attendees, evident in the question and answer session at the end. The webinar was officially kicked off by Wally Mayne PrEng, Manager: Contractual Affairs at CESA.

Dr Claire Deacon PrCHSA from Claire Deacon & Associates presented Practice Note 19 – Appointing a Construction Health and Safety Agent in terms of the Construction Regulations, 2014. Presenting Practice Note 104 – Service requirements imposed by clients/mining houses that may expose the consultant to undue risk, was Charl Cilliers PrEng from Jones and Wagener. The final speaker was John de Villers PrEng from Knight Piésold, presenting Practice Note 24 –  Certificates beyond those required by Conditions of Appointment.

Mayne was on hand once again to facilitate a lively question and answer session before officially bringing proceedings to a halt. The updated Practice Notes can be found on the CESA website at https://www.cesa.co.za/practice-notes/
