Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management (IPDM) Training

Two Day Seminar Specifically for Public Sector Procurement

Infrastructure procurement and delivery management is increasingly becoming an area of focus in improving infrastructure project outcomes in South Africa. Two significant publications in this regard are the National Treasury Standard for Infrastructure Procurement and Delivery Management (2015) and the University of the Witwatersrand and Engineers against Poverty’s Client Guide for Improving Infrastructure Project Outcomes(2018).

Procurement is the process that creates, manages and fulfils contracts. Procurement commences once a need for goods and services or any combination thereof has been identified and it ends when the goods are received and the services or works are completed and contracts are closed out. Delivery management relates to the client’s decision-making process associated with the delivery of projects and as such deals with the decisions required during the planning design and execution projects of infrastructure projects. Procurement yields the necessary resources to deliver projects while delivery management provides the oversight management and forms part of the governance or quality oversight arrangement for projects.

This important Course should not be missed and provides the following outcomes that includes an understanding of:

  • The client’s role in delivering infrastructure effectively and the contribution which built environment professionals can make in the successful delivery of projects;
  • The fundamental standard practice and procedures associated with infrastructure procurement
