

Financial Literacy for Young Professionals with Allan Gray
The CESA Young Professionals Financial Literacy Workshop took place at the Allan Gray offices in Rosebank, Johannesburg on Thursday, 3 November. Hosted by the CESA Young Professionals Forum (YPF) Gauteng South and North branches, the event featured professionals providing important advice for young people to better prepare for life beyond retirement. The event kicked off with a networking session where the attendees engaged before making their way to the venue. Getting proceedings underway, CESA YPF Gauteng North Chairperson, Saiuree Ramnarain welcomed attendees, introduced the speakers and outlined the programme for the evening.
CESA YPF Gauteng South Chairperson and mechanical engineer at BVi Consulting Engineers, Swesha Machre presented the topic ‘Your greatest earning potential’. In his presentation, Machere told attendees: “You are your greatest earning potential. Start with first things first.” Nomsa Ngwenya, Client Relationship Manager at Allan Gray presented her topic ‘Financial literacy 101’. Her discussion touched on important aspects of investing for the future and ensuring your lifestyle is not affected post retirement. Real estate investment specialist, Kenneth Madede presented ‘Real estate investing in South Africa’. Madede’s presentation highlighted the pros of investing in property and the importance of starting early.
CESA YPF Gauteng South Committee Member, Lyndell Captain brought proceedings to a close by introducing committee members from both branches who collaborated for the successful event.
