Sustainability and Risk Management – Practice Notes Webinar

The CESA Practice Notes Webinar on “Sustainability and Risk Management” held on 28th February 2024, provided invaluable insights for professionals seeking to enhance their projects and meet industry demands. The event featured essential tools and knowledge crucial for project success.

Wally Wayne, CESA’s Manager: Contractual Affairs, kicked off the webinar with a warm welcome and opening remarks. Independent Consulting Engineer, Francis Gibbons, discussed the intricacies of CESA’s Risk Management Implementation Guidelines. Gibbons highlighted the significance of Enterprise Risk Management in pre-emptively addressing practice risks, emphasising the establishment of specific house rules. He also outlined seven key factors for effective risk management, providing attendees with actionable insights.

Following Gibbons, Sonja De Klerk, a member of the FIDIC Quality Task Group and CESA Quality Risk and Sustainable Committee, presented “Sustainability in projects – Practical tools for implementation.” De Klerk shared practical tools and strategies for integrating sustainability into projects. With these presentations, the webinar equipped participants with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of sustainability and risk management in their projects.
