Tackling Infrastructure Challenges in Limpopo

The Limpopo Branch Function was held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment in Polokwane, on 3 October 2024, bringing together influential industry leaders to address the pressing infrastructure challenges facing the province. The event, facilitated by Jonas Tshikundamalema, Director and Chairman at Mantengu Mining, featured engaging presentations from CESA and guest speakers from various organisations.

Livhu Motabatsindi, CESA Limpopo Branch Chairperson and Manager at Muteo Consulting, welcomed attendees by highlighting the critical need for improved infrastructure in Limpopo. He noted that this need represents both a challenge and an opportunity for growth, urging stakeholders to utilise their engineering expertise to develop sustainable solutions that foster economic advancement.

Our President, David Leukes, reinforced this message, stressing the importance of “Diverse and Collaborative Leadership – Stronger Together to Secure a Sustainable Future for All.” He identified the water crisis in Limpopo as a key issue, calling for better planning and collaboration among municipalities and water boards to effectively tackle these challenges.

The event featured insightful presentations, including Regina Ravele, Limpopo Provincial Manager at MISA, discussing “Local Government Technical Capacity – Infrastructure Delivery,” and Dr. Cornelius Ruiters, CEO at Lepelle Northern Water, focusing on “Water Services – Infrastructure.” Our CEO, Chris Campbell, moderated a Q&A session, offering valuable perspectives on national infrastructure issues and solutions.
