Mental Health in Focus

Our CESA YPF KZN partnered with MindHarbor to host an impactful mental health talk, led by experienced counsellor Joshua Cooper. The webinar provided a safe and supportive space for participants to explore the talk entitled: “Understanding Minds: Navigating Neurodivergence, Emotions, and Mental Wellness.” Drawing on his extensive experience in schools, private practice, and hospices, Joshua offered valuable insights into mental health, fostering greater awareness and understanding.

Annual CESA YPF KZN Bowling Event

Our annual bowling event, on 5 December, brought together 120 professionals from the engineering industry for an evening of fun, networking, and friendly competition. Organised by Shenelle Sudhama, Ebrahim Floris, and KZN Chairperson Dinesha Maistry, the event at Electric Avenue in KwaZulu-Natal, fostered connections through team activities, showcasing the power of teamwork in a lively and collaborative setting.

Second Annual CESA YPF GS UJ Speed Mentoring

The CESA YPF Gauteng South, in collaboration with the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Johannesburg, hosted the second annual speed mentoring event in October.  This initiative provided a platform for mentors to share their expertise and experiences with enthusiastic students eager to learn and grow. Through a series of short, focused sessions, mentors offered invaluable insights, guidance, and inspiration, empowering students to navigate their chosen career paths with confidence.

CESA Western Cape YPF’s annual Quiz Night

Our annual quiz night, at De Oud Social Café, brought together industry professionals for an evening of knowledge, networking, and fun.

Teams from Bosch, MPAMOT Africa, SMEC South Africa, RHDHV, PRDW, WSP Africa, K&T, and our CESA WC YPF Committee competed in a spirited contest, with MPAMOT Africa taking first place, followed by SMEC South Africa in second and K&T in third.

The event was marked by lively camaraderie, great food, and friendly rivalry, making it a memorable night for all involved.

Thunee Tournament in KwaZulu-Natal

On October 24th, 2024, we hosted an exciting Thunee Tournament at the SMEC offices in Durban, bringing together over 10 enthusiastic teams for a night of strategy and competition. After several intense rounds, Bosch Projects claimed first place, with SMEC and ENSYNC taking second and third, respectively. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who participated in this engaging and memorable event!
