BCE MDP Launch 2025
We launched our Business of Consulting Engineering Management Development Programme (BCE MDP) on Wednesday, 25 February 2025. Students joined in-person and online in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and Cape Town.
The hybrid programme brings together students from BVi Consulting Engineers; Deltron Projects; DSV Consulting Engineers; Ekcon Consulting Engineers; Fubu Africa; Hatch Africa; Knight Piésold Consulting; MSW Consulting; Newcastle Local Municipality; TRDV Engineering and WSP Group Africa.
Our CEO Chris Campbell welcomed students, mentors and subject matter experts to the programme. He highlighted that the BCE MDP is critical in enabling young professionals to adapt in a sector that is evolving due to rapid technological advancements, industry disruptions, sustainability and digital transformation. “This programme is life-changing and it is important to understand that your professional growth is a journey. The BCE MDP will equip you to grow in your career, while also meeting the strategic objectives of your organisation. It is important to take ownership of your career by applying all of the learnings from this programme so that the recognition of the value-add is self-evident.”
Led by Brenda Lacey-Smith, Manager: Education and Training, the nine-month programme will see 25 students from prominent consulting engineering firms across the country enhance their non-technical competencies. “The programme also equips them with essential management and entrepreneurial skills necessary in a highly competitive industry. Thereby making good engineers excellent engineers and business leaders,” says Lacey-Smith.
Thank you to Knight Piésold Consulting and BVi Consulting Engineers for availing their offices to our students in Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal respectively.
