The CESA Infrastructure Indaba 2024 took place on 19 – 20 March 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

With the theme “Engineering the Future Now”, the conference focused on key topics such as transformation, energy infrastructure, infrastructure investment, procurement, technology, and water security. 

Notable speakers included:

• Alderman Eddie Andrews – Deputy Mayor of Cape Town
• Tertius Alfred Simmers – Western Cape MEC for Infrastructure
• Thamba Mhambi – Chairperson of SANRAL
• Bongani Dladla – CEO of CIBD
• Sean Phillips – Director-General of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS)

The event featured exhibitions from various companies and consultants, fostering meaningful knowledge exchange between young and senior professionals in the industry.

The CESA YPF was well-represented, with 13 committee members attending from across South Africa, including representatives from the Western Cape branch. Marizel Pienaar, CESA YPF Deputy Chairperson, facilitated the Leadership, Technology and Mental health session.
