This quarter, we rolled out an exciting lineup of webinars designed to equip young professionals across the country with essential tools for career success. From mastering financial planning and developing leadership and management skills, to navigating the road to professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa – each session delivered practical insights and inspiration for the journey ahead from industry leaders.
Financial Planning Webinar
Our Young Professionals Forum (YPF) in KwaZulu-Natal, in collaboration with Investec, hosted young professionals to a free online session focused on building financial confidence and planning for the future. Held on the 10th of July, the session explored key topics such as retirement planning, understanding the benefits of life insurance, building strong investment portfolios, and practical financial management strategies. Guest speakers included Nirvashni Rajkumar and Yolande Dumakunder from Investec.
Road to Registration (R2R) webinar
This webinar, held on 26 June, was aimed at gaining practical insights to help young professionals confidently navigate the ECSA registration process. Whether preparing TERs and ERs or gearing up for your interview, the session was packed with value – and it was validated for 0.15 CPD points!
Young professionals gained insights from industry experts Chris Mynhardt from Shumba Engineering Services, and Tumisang Gabriel from SMEC South Africa, on common pitfalls in TERs and ERs; aligning organisational standards effectively; interview preparation tips and what happens after you are registered.
