New neuroscience course launched
Our School of Consulting Engineering (SCE) has introduced a Neuroscience in Leadership programme that leverages the latest breakthroughs in neuroscience to simplify and strengthen leadership skills.
“The SCE is pleased to introduce this new course to our members. It is important that education and training entities, such as ourselves, regularly update and introduce new courses to equip members with the latest tools and insights, allowing delegates to meet emerging challenges head-on,” our CEO Chris Campbell says.

Campbell adds that in today’s business environment, continuous learning is not just an option, it is a necessity. “It means staying curious, adapting to new knowledge and refining your skills to remain relevant and effective. For a professional, continuous learning fuels career growth and resilience,” he notes.
Managers spend approximately 80% of their day influencing and inspiring others. Providing a practical, intuitive framework that leaders can immediately apply in their professional and personal lives, this one-day course equips delegates with a powerful, easy-to-apply framework – the Trust, Engagement, Competencies (TEC) Leadership System – that enhances leadership at all levels.
Modern neuroscience reveals that humans are fundamentally social creatures. Our ancient limbic brain, which governs emotions and survival instincts, profoundly influences how we respond to leadership. For example, fear triggers a shutdown of the rational prefrontal cortex, limiting creativity and problem-solving. Conversely, trust releases oxytocin, the bonding hormone, which fosters cooperation and engagement.
Understanding these primal brain responses is crucial. Leaders who adapt their style to build trust, engage emotionally, and demonstrate competence can unlock the full potential of their teams. This is the essence of the TEC system – three interconnected domains that together form the foundation of successful leadership.
SCE training facilitator Ian Rheeder notes, “Neuroscience has allowed us to focus on the new basics and produce a leadership system that is intuitive and easier to implement. Without the TEC Leadership System, examining ourselves as leaders is extremely difficult. This system synthesises the practical knowledge of hundreds of books and white papers to answer the central question: ‘What makes leaders successful?’ Combining neuroscience, leadership and business strategy is what makes this course truly unique.”
This course is a one-stop shop for leadership development. It’s easy to grasp, easy to remember, and most importantly, easy to implement and delegates will see tangible improvements, in how they lead their teams, if they applied the TEC Leadership principles.
What sets the TEC system apart from other leadership courses, is its focus on simplicity and immediate applicability. Leadership theories often overwhelm with complexity and abstract concepts, but TEC distils leadership into manageable, actionable elements, helping leaders to build trust through authenticity, transparency and shared values, engage employees with a compelling vision and clear career paths and demonstrate competence by leading with purpose and expertise.
These elements are reinforced with neuroscience-backed tools like emotional intelligence exercises and leadership style assessments. The result is a leadership approach that is easy to grasp, remember and implement, delivering almost immediate improvements in workplace dynamics and outcomes.
This one-day CPD course is designed for individuals seeking to elevate their leadership skills and effectively build and motivate high-performance teams. Interested individuals are encouraged to book early through CESA School of Consulting Engineering (SCE) to secure their place in this transformative leadership experience.
