Master Builders South Africa 122nd Congress

We participated in the 2026 Master Builders South Africa’s 122nd Congress,  on the 4th of September, which brought together leaders from across the built environment under the theme “Building South Africa as a Gateway to Africa through Investment and Smart Infrastructure.”

The Congress provided an important platform for industry stakeholders to engage on the opportunities and challenges shaping South Africa’s infrastructure landscape.

Speaking at the event, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana highlighted the decline in the construction sector’s contribution to GDP and the accompanying reduction in industry capacity. He noted that these challenges affect both construction companies and the availability of critical skills, including the migration of experienced engineers and the international recruitment of newly qualified professionals.

Together with the Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) and Master Builders South Africa, we engaged with industry leaders on the challenges facing the sector, the opportunities for investment and the role that collaboration can play in supporting sustainable growth.

Our participation reinforced our commitment to contributing to meaningful industry conversations and working with partners across the built environment to strengthen our sector and support a more connected and resilient South Africa.
