About the YPF
The Young Professionals Forum (YPF) of Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) is a dynamic network of young professionals committed to advancing engineering excellence, supporting the growth of future leaders, and contributing to the sustainability of South Africa’s engineering sector. The YPF aligns with CESA’s broader mission of championing quality infrastructure, ethical leadership, transformation, skills development, and the long-term sustainability of the consulting engineering profession.
The YPF comprises approximately 1,800 members, including around 500 young professionals from non-CESA organisations, creating a diverse platform for collaboration across the engineering and built environment sectors.
Membership is voluntary and primarily open to qualified engineering professionals under the age of 36 employed by CESA member firms. Participation beyond the Forum’s governance structures is open to all young professionals under the age of 36 who are active in the engineering and built environment industries.
YPF Objectives
- Promote the engineering and built environment professions by supporting CESA’s advocacy, transformation, and public-awareness initiatives while inspiring the next generation of engineers.
- Develop future industry leaders through mentorship, professional development, leadership opportunities, and knowledge sharing.
- Strengthen collaboration and industry sustainability by fostering networking, innovation, and active engagement among young professionals across the engineering and built environment sectors.
