CESA YPF Western Cape 2024 Events![]() 1. Mandela Day Initiative – Beach Clean-upIn celebration of Mandela Day on July 18, 2024, PRDW organized a series of activities and initiatives to honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy and contribute to our community. Our dedicated committee members worked tirelessly to ensure the success of these events, embodying the spirit of selflessness and service that Mandela Day represents. The primary objective of our Mandela Day initiative was to make a meaningful impact in our local community by addressing immediate needs and fostering a spirit of togetherness and giving. We aimed to inspire our employees to dedicate at least 67 minutes of their time to community service, reflecting the 67 years Nelson Mandela spent fighting for social justice. Several employees from PRDW and WSP joined forces to clean Mouille Point Beach in celebration of Mandela Day 2024. Volunteers braved the cold for more than 67 minutes, with the clean-up concluding shortly after sunset. Equipped with gloves and trash bags, the group collected a substantial amount of rubbish along the beach. Thank you to all those who took part in this positive initiative. While a single beach clean-up is seemingly insignificant compared to the amount of litter in our world, every contribution counts. Hopefully, this initiative will inspire others to organise or take part in similar events in the future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all committee members and volunteers who participated in our Mandela Day initiatives. Their dedication and hard work made these activities successful and impactful. Special thanks to Liza Holländer and Matthew Horrigan for their leadership and coordination. 2. Key topics addressed included developing an investment portfolio to secure financial stability, building generational wealth while managing family taxation, navigating tax complexities with confidence, and enhancing knowledge in managing credit and debt effectively. The event concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, leaving attendees inspired and equipped to plan for their financial futures with a long-term perspective. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Investec for their efforts in organizing and hosting this impactful event. Their commitment to empowering young professionals with essential financial knowledge and tools is deeply appreciated, and their support plays a vital role in fostering a financially informed and prepared generation. 3.
